I know, what the hell could I be posting about with a stack of quarters and a $21, right?
It's the best I could do in coming up with a pictures for the title 'change' ... maybe a bit creative, maybe not.
Change is all around me right now. Not literal change (unfortunately), but changes in my life. Good, positive changes. If you weren't already aware, I finally received a job offer from the company I'd been interviewing with for the last few months. Not only will this be a change for me since I've been unemployed for seven months, but it's also located in Madison, WI which is about 90 minutes from where I live now.
Exciting, right?
It is, but at the same time this type of change is a bit on the extreme side for me considering that I've lived in Milwaukee all my life, with the exception of college. I've been out of college for too many years to mention actually!
Madison, Wisconsin is a fantastic city and I truly am excited in a freaked-out-kind-of-way. So many different things have been pointing me in this direction that it's been difficult to avoid this from happening. A long-time friend (16 years actually) told me today that this is the happiest most exciting time in my life since we've known one another. I had to think hard about this and continued to give this thought throughout the day. Is it? Really? I've had a lot of things happen over the last 15-20 years (as many of us do) that have caused a great amount of turbulence in my life. From losing both parents, changes in long time friendships to changing jobs unexpectedly. With being able to start over, begin fresh in another city is an opportunity for me to even reinvent myself, so to speak.
I think the possibilities could be endless, right? New friends, museums, activities, great parks and lakes, bike trails galore...I continue to think of others, but I'll leave that to my handwritten list I started back when I contemplated looking for jobs outside of both Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
If things don't work out for whatever reason, I can always come back "home" to Milwaukee. Who knows, maybe this move will lead to another move out West to Portland, OR in a few years where my brother Rick and his family are moving from Oconomowoc next month. It's change all around for the White's!
To the friends that have been so supportive during the last seven months, I can't thank you enough. You've helped me realize that there's still potential for amazing things in life even at 42 years old.
Lastly, it's finally come to my day for Victoria's Blog It Forward project! Her idea started back in February with a list of a ton of bloggers that would post about the idea on a given day, then refer to the next blogger in line in order to expose people to more sites that are out there. What a great vision she had that is slowly coming to an end.
Make sure to check out Victoria's blog...you'll find it hard to turn away since there's so many amazing style and design finds that she posts about.
Thanks to Rhonna Designs for passing the torch on to me and now I have the honor to pass it on to Jeanine over at Wonderings & Wanderings for Thursdays post.
If you're interested in clicking a few more that are posting on Thursday for the mashup, I've listed those below that have a turn.
